The Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering (JSNN) is much more than an academic unit. The UNCG Department of Nanoscience is at the forefront of transdisciplinary research that spans several traditional STEM disciplines, including biology, chemistry, physics, and materials science. Our mission is to become a catalyst for breakthrough discoveries that provide high-impact academic, industry, and government research outcomes.
Your gift to the Nanoscience Enrichment Fund helps our talented graduate students reach their goals in several important ways. Through this Fund, we will support women in nanotechnology by investing in their conference travel and entrepreneurship opportunities and addressing life's challenges that could derail their education such as childcare concerns.
This Fund also provides support to students facing unexpected issues that lead to financial insecurity. Sudden expenses can unravel all of the hard work and progress students have made toward their graduate degrees. This Fund seeks to prevent that outcome by closing financial gaps.
Finally, the Fund supports the Dissertation Completion Fellowship, closing financial gaps that could prevent a student from completing their dissertation and receiving their degree.
